“We have worked alongside Amethyst for a few years now providing supported housing where they provide the support element. Amethyst have worked with the housing officers to ensure the tenants are aware of their responsibilities and work with the housing team with MDT and tenant meetings. When new services have opened, I have seen senior management supporting the tenants and training the staff team which is really great to see. All very approachable”

Sarah Rae, a tenant of Austhorpe Road – one of Amethyst CSG's supported living homes – has demonstrated immense resilience and strength throughout her life. Growing up in Leeds and facing significant challenges early on, Sarah has persevered and continues to make strides in building a brighter future. Since joining our community, Sarah has flourished in her flat and cultivated positive relationships with both tenants and staff. Her dedication to personal growth has led her to engage in meaningful work with the local church, fostering a strong connection with the community. Although Sarah has faced recent setbacks in her mental health, causing her to temporarily withdraw, her unwavering spirit prevails. She has taken on a new challenge by attending Slimming World classes, held at the same church where she works, to focus on her health and well-being. We are proud of Sarah's determination and are honored to support her on her journey towards an independent and fulfilling life.

Conrad Tutin has been an integral part of the Beech House family, one of Amethyst CSG's supported living homes. Despite his years in mental health institutions, Conrad has adapted remarkably well to his first home away from his loving mother, Pat. Conrad continues to share a strong bond with her while thriving in his new environment. Conrad is learning to balance his hobbies with the responsibilities of daily life. With the support of Beech House, Conrad has shown remarkable progress in his journey towards independence, and we are proud to be part of his continued growth and success.

Amethyst provides the care and support to tenants within four BSR properties. As the housing provider, we have limited experience with regards to the delivery of care and support that is provided to tenants in line with their assessed care needs. We can however comment on the professional working relationship with Amethyst and say that we have always found them to be open, transparent and willing to work collaboratively with us to resolve any situations that arise. Recent case studies shared with BSR have identified positive outcomes for tenants where support has resulted in increased independence and even one tenant publishing his own book! The case studies also demonstrated as cost-savings for local authority and NHS commissioning teams in comparison to alternative placements within more acute services.”

“ Our experience of working with Amethyst has been very positive, whether this has been working with Support Workers in our properties, to dealing with company’s Directors. They are pleasant, yet professional company to work with, they communicate well at all levels. The support staff who work in our properties are well organized and efficient, knowledgeable and build strong relationships with our Tenants. Amethyst has a strong sense of purpose with clear aims and values that puts the vulnerable Tenants first, and are caring, honest , open and transparent in their dealing with us. Overall, the company has good knowledge of Supported housing and the part they play in supporting Tenant, but also good knowledge of where the landlord fits in, and other agencies, an are open to working together to achieve win-win solutions”

“I am not a service user – I am a professional working alongside Amethyst providing care to someone, so my experience of their services is limited. I have been really impressed by how Amethyst have responded to a very difficult clinical scenario. Their involvement has been consistent and beyond what I would have expected. Staff are compassionate and their experiences of the service user are informing the system of multi agencies around her. We are all learning from and supporting each other and Amethyst are a key part of this. I have been really impressed by how bravely they challenge the thinking in the system as well – they are committed to excellent care for this woman, and they are not afraid to call out some of the biases and blind spots others may have.
My experience of Amethyst has been of a dedicated, thoughtful, and compassionate team who absolutely go the extra mile.”

“The service user I support is so happy living at Arch House, it has been a long process getting her settled in, she has never felt settled anywhere else before. She found it difficult accepting support initially but now wants to live at Arch House for the rest of her life, which is testament to the effort staff have put in to making her feel at home and well supported. They have let my service user go at her own pace and gradually introduced elements of her care package so as not to overwhelm her. She is so settled now I can withdraw my support as her social worker, after 2 years, and pass on case responsibility to Arch House. Fabulous result!.”

“The staff at Mill Residence have been exceptionally responsive and supportive to me as a family member of a service user. My relative recently experienced a very difficult and manic period, displaying extremely challenging behaviour at times due to their mental health. This was an incredibly worrying time for our family. However, the team at Mill Residence kept me thoroughly informed of any changes, whether positive or negative, and consistently took the time to speak with me or send daily email updates. Their communication was invaluable and allowed me to keep the wider family informed. We never felt alone during these challenging times, and their dedication was evident even during hospital visits when our relative was admitted. The staff genuinely care about the people they support, promoting independence while always being available when needed or wanted. Having spent many years as a registered manager in the care home sector, I can see strong parallels with the person-centred approach we all value. Although this is not a care home, it embodies the same ethos. The service feels like a close-knit group of friends supporting one another and tackling challenges together. After years of difficult and complex times, my relative has made incredible progress and is now thriving. They are also genuinely happy at the Mill Residence, which has been an enormous relief for our family. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone at Mill Residence for the exceptional care and support provided to my family member. Living with mental health challenges is never easy, but the compassion and professionalism of the staff have made an incredible difference. The service at Mill Residence goes above and beyond, with a team that truly understands the importance of person-centred care. They kept me updated every step of the way, ensuring our family felt supported during difficult times. Their dedication, kindness, and willingness to go the extra mile—whether through daily updates or hospital visits—have been deeply appreciated. Thanks to their unwavering support, my relative is now in a much better place and is thriving in ways we couldn’t have imagined. We are so grateful to have found Mill Residence and its outstanding team. Thank you for everything!"

“Very responsive. A resident at Mill Residence, who I am currently supporting, has been in and out of hospital regularly. Staff at Mill Residence have been quick to provide any updates on what is happening for this resident, and happy to accept my updates and discuss any future planning. This has enabled my service to support the resident with a more joined-up approach From my dealings with the service, the quality is always high, with an approach that seems very person-centred .All staff have been very easy to work him – friendly, professional and obviously care for the people they support."
